Several months ago I regained the rights to The Last Free Cat from Hachette and the US publishers Albert Whitman and began making plans to republish the book myself. I didn’t have to look far for an illustrator since I’d known Rebecca Harry since our sons were at nursery together and was sure she would do a great job. Preparing the book for publication has involved an amazingly massive amount of work (especially as I couldn’t stop myself from revising it at the same time), but hopefully we’ll have copies for sale by the end of the November: here is a first glimpse of the cover, which I’ve shown on a few school visits to choruses of oohs and ahs.

The book has its own site at www.lastfreecat.uk.
